                                                  ABOUT

Don Bracken is a process-oriented artist whose work evolves from the discovery of natural materials, which are then synthesized and formalized in the studio. His work derives from both the physical landscape and the archeological traces of civilization, combining elements such as clay, local earth, natural pigments, and plant material.

He incorporates rich textures, color, light, and kinetics in pieces that are evocative of life’s ephemeral transience and its constant evolution, as well as humans' capacity to cause decline, disorder, and chaos in the natural world.

Bracken’s award-winning work is held in numerous American and international collections.
